NATIONAL COMPETITIONS 2018

NAAI in collaboration with World Skills India (National Skill Development Corporation), under the ambit of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), jointly hosted National Abilympic competitions for PwDs in Aerocity, New Delhi from October 2-6, 2018 in 10 skill categories selected for regional competitions 2018. This was for the first time that National World Skill competitions of Non-Divyangjan and Abilympic competitions of Divyangjan were organized together as an inclusion initiative.

The National event comprised five different sets of activities –

    • 1. Three day training camp of regional winners
    • 2. Inaugural Ceremony
    • 3. Vocational skill competitions in 10 skill trades
    • 4. Workshop on “Scale up of Skill Training and Livelihood for PwDs”
    • 5. Valedictory session and Awards ceremony

50 regional winners from 11 different states across India, belonging to various NGO’s, Engineering Colleges, National Institutes and other organizations competed. 26 winning participants under different skill categories, included 9 Gold Medalists, 8 Silver Medalists and 9 Bronze Medalists in 10 skill categories. All the remaining participants were awarded ‘certificate of participation’.

NATIONAL COMPETITIONS 2019

NAAI with the support of The Hans Foundation organized the National Abilympics skill competition at AICTE Campus, Nelson Mandela Marg, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, on 15th – 16th November 2019.

The two days event were graced by more than 1000 attendees from different locations across India, and comprised of three different activities –

    • 1. Abilympics Skill competitions
    • 2. National Conference on Disability
    • 3. Job fair for PwDs.
    • 4. Award Ceremony.

NAAI invited 51 regional competitions medal winners (Gold and Silver) for the National selections, out of which 38 participants participated in the competitions. Overall there were 22 winners (5 Gold, 8 Silver and 9 Bronze). The winners were presented medals and certificates during the Awards ceremony
