Leisure and Living Skills (Above 15 years)
1. Crochet Work
In this category the contestants are provided with the thread or yarn required for the particular kind of sample given. The contestants have to finish the article in the given time. Crochet work involves interlocking of thread with a hook, similar to knitting needles.

2. Hand Knitting
To produce a product as similar in pattern and measurements as possible to the given sample. They are evaluated on their ability in using colours and design within specifications given and the fineness of the finished product.

3. Macramé (Knotting)
This contest aims at judging the participant's ability to create an artifact, for example, a wall hanging or a figurette by the method of knotting. The participants are provided with cords in different colours and dimensions and have to follow the sample pattern closely. They are evaluated on aspects such as aesthetic appeal, dimensions, evenness, uniformity, originality and final finish.

4. Chess
This, as everyone is aware, is a very popular indoor game. The equipment is provided and participants play the game in rounds. The result depends on time and on the position at the time of victory in case of time running short. The " Swiss" format is followed and referees are called to assess the match as and when required. Special equipment is provided for those who are visually impaired.

5. Contract Bridge
This contest aims at providing the contestants an opportunity to demonstrate their skill, experience and competence in playing the game of contract bridge. Participants will be required to participate in a Paris Competition in Duplicate Bridge run according to the rules as laid down by the World Bridge Federation.

6. Embroidery
This is a test to judge the skills of contes innovation and imagination in creating magic with interweaving of threads.

7. Batik
This is a traditional technique used for dying and decorating fabric. This contest allows the participants to use their skills to fully explore the world of colours and, in the process, create some spellbinding effects. This controlled method of dyeing cloth can create beautiful effects. Contestants are provided with basic equipment like wax and dyes etc. but the contestant is free to choose the design and the method.

8. Waste Reuse
This is a very simple way of teaching children to make use of waste material and to put it to good use and make something creatriginality, creativity and innovation in design.

Consist of 25 events ranging from modern vocations such as computer programming to traditional vocations such as wood carving, painting and jewellery making.

Only persons aged between 8 and 15 years can participate in these 12 events which test creative, spatial and logical abilities. |
6thInternational Conference
